Professional Experience: Dywan Rodgers joined the Law Chambers of Harry B. Sands, Lobosky & Company in November 2001, and his principle areas of practice are grounded in civil litigation and employment law. Although the Firm does not generally engage in criminal law practice, Dywan has participated and successfully defended several criminal suits.

Dywan has appeared as Counsel in varying civil actions before all forums sitting within The Bahamas. In particular, he has litigated and appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, Industrial Tribunal, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, as well as Court appointed and voluntary Mediation and Arbitration Hearings.

Employment Law: Dywan’s experience in industrial relations and employment law includes acting on behalf of both employers (several major institutions within The Bahamas) and employees at Conciliation and/or before the Industrial Tribunal and Courts.

Dywan has been charged with the duty as Counsel of suing on behalf of the claimant or defending on behalf of the respondent, as well as drafting employment contracts, interpreting the law as it relates to existing contracts, and providing legal advice and opinions generally anent employment and labour laws within The Bahamas.

Civil and Commercial Litigation: Dywan’s experience is wide ranging and covers a number of areas of law, namely, negligence, professional negligence (medical and otherwise), personal injuries, wrongful death, debt recovery, contractual law (interpretation of contracts, breach of contract), enforcement of foreign Judgments, construction disputes, property disputes (enforcement of easements, enforcement of lease agreements, enforcement of mortgage agreements, evictions).

Dywan’s involvement with and carriage of civil and commercial matters include all stages of a respective suit, from negotiating a settlement without recourse to the Courts or Tribunal, to obtaining interlocutory relief such as injunctive relief or summary judgments, and enforcement of judgments ultimately rendered at the conclusion of a full trial.

Other Experience: In addition to his practice, Dywan has also lent assistance in the law classes and tutorials at the Eugene Dupuch Law School, Nassau, Bahamas.
