Areas of Practice: Civil Litigation, Divorce and Family Law, Employment and Industrial Relations Law, Personal Injury and Negligence Litigation, Debt Recovery, and Real Property Litigation.

Professional Experience: Paula’s principle area of practice is civil litigation. She has appeared as Counsel in a cross section of civil cases before all of the courts and tribunals sitting in The Bahamas, including the Magistrates Court, Industrial Tribunal, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal.

Her experience in employment law has included representing both employers and employees in disputes before the Industrial Tribunal and Courts, drafting employment contracts, and advising generally on matters related to employment relations.

Her family practice consists of representing both Petitioners and Respondents in divorce and other related matrimonial actions, negotiating and drafting separation and financial agreements, and representing Applicants in Adoption proceedings.

She has primarily represented insurers’ interests in personal injury matters, although she has successfully brought claims and negotiated settlements on behalf of claimants. Similarly her experience in debt recovery claims has consisted mainly of representing the interests of mortgagees and other creditors.

Paula’s experience in land law includes representing claimants in Quieting Title actions, as well in other litigation involving the enforcements of rights in real property in The Bahamas.
